"Absolutely amazing food at Trilly. This is not just a meal, this is an experience. The food never stopped and was all so thoughtfully made. Everything was fresh to the day. The hosts were very accommodating and made us feel like family. We loved drinking the wine made by the host’s father as well as the delightful sampling of digestifs they offered. "Short version: 5 stars, go out of your way to come here (message their number on WhatsApp for a reservation), it's so, so worth it. Long version: You know when you travel, you have certain memories that will stick with you whenever you think of a place? This restaurant is one of them. It isn't just dinner, it's a full experience. Trilly and her husband invite you into their home with THE BEST view of La Maddalena, overlooking the harbour and nearby islands to prepare delicious, fresh, traditional Sardinian food in an intimate setting. We were lucky enough to have an "exclusive" experience, being the only table (there is a maximum of three tables). From the amazing wine made by Dany's father, to the sunset, the soft music, the incredible food, and homemade liquors (emphasis on the plural there), it was an amazing night. The food was delicious, and the hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They manage to create a setting that feels like I should be paying €500 a person for the setting and experience, while being fed and cared after by family at the same time. We had the "land" menu, and were treated to the best Sardinian food we have had in two weeks of exploring the island. Be warned, the number of courses and amount of food is next level. I read the other reviews and thought I was prepared, but I was completely wrong. I don't know, maybe don't eat for an entire day before, and run a marathon and then you'll manage. On a related note, for any person thinking of using this as a spot to propose to their significant other: (1) yes, it is romantic as hell and the perfect spot for this, (2) do it just after the multiple amuse-bouches but before the appetizers, because after that you both will be loosening your belts, and getting down on one knee might prove challenging. "An exquisite experience After a long walk up a steep hill in a floaty summer dress I made it to the restaurant - a balcony of a local lady with breathtaking views. I savoured every mouthful of her food. Fish was the centre piece of each dish - fresh and flavourful. The courses kept coming and I was thankful for wearing the baggy dress. The gluten free pasta was incredible, the fish salad was sublime and the host was so generous. You could tell each dish was made with love. I’m so glad I found this gem. Be sure to phone the day before for a booking."

"Amazing experience and the food is delicious. Homemade food. If you have the opportunity, it’s a MUST to go there. We had 12 different dishes. You have to reserve a table in advance, so you should book a couple days before. Highly recommended!"

"Happened to stumble upon this listing online and decided to give it a try while I stayed in La Maddalena. I read some reviews in which people complained about the price, but quite honestly I think it is underpriced given the amount and quality of food that they serve you. It was only €80 for 10 courses of food with everything else included, which I find to be extremely reasonable, if not inexpensive. I loved the experience so I decided to dine back the next day for their land menu and it did not disappoint. I even got to experience a neon moon lighting the mountains and the water so needless to say, it was an amazing experience and absolutely recommend it to everyone who is looking for either good food, unique experience, or both."

"simply lovely evening. Such friendly, caring hosts, amazing food! Most of the other reviews are accurate, but some details are food to know. If you want to visit, you should know a few important details: 1. It is in their flat, you sit on their balcony with a amazing view. There are three tables, two small, one big, max seating 10-15 in total. 2. You have to make a reservation (they are very responsive on whatsapp). Some basic Italian, or at least good French / Spanish will be very helpful 3. It is a set menu, it seems one evening meat, another fish, the fish menu had only one dish with any meat, so pescatarians should be fine :) 4. It's a lot of food, feel free to skip lunch and breakfast the next day :) 5. Plan to spend the whole evening there, it seems you should arrive 8-830, we finished around midnight. 6. It's as good as everyone else has said, if the above is ok with you, you won't be disappointed !!! Thanks a lot!!"
